Through story, music, interactive media and live theatre, the team at DreamRider Productions create inclusive, meaningful, and full-throttle experiences that children adore and that instil positive environmental and social values in their hearts – and in their actions. After experiencing DreamRider programs, kids feel energized, happy, and eager to put into practice what they have learned!
DreamRider has reached almost a million kids, in over 70 Canadian cities, and now in multiple cities in the US.
DreamRider started first as a project of the City of Vancouver, BC, in 1997, engaging elementary school kids in water conservation through theatre. Word spread, and pretty soon they were working with many municipalities to reach schools, teachers, and kids throughout the Metro Vancouver region. Due to popular demand they became an independent non-profit society in 2002, before becoming a registered charity in 2005.
Following the success of their award-winning live theatre shows, the DreamRider team wanted to scale their reach and impact beyond Metro Vancouver to inspire a whole generation of environmental superheroes. The result is the The Planet Protector Academy, a unique digital-led classroom based program in which kids become ‘apprentice’ Planet Protectors and go home on superhero missions to change their families’ behaviours!
